A large placebo controlled trial tested thymosin alpha-1 in adults with sepsis, a serious illness caused by the body’s response to infection. It found no clear reduction in deaths within 28 days.
An effect on immune signalling does not automatically mean fewer everyday infections or better health. Results from hospital patients cannot establish a general wellness benefit.
